Skagit County is home to several tribal and other communities. Indian tribal communities include the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, the Samish Indian Nation, the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe, and the Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe.

In addition to the tribal communities, there are several other unique communities in Skagit County that add to the area’s diversity. Bow-Edison has emerged as a regional destination for farm-to-table agritourism, and Bayview, on Padilla Bay, is home to Bayview State Park and the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Reserve. Other areas of interest include the Town of Hamilton, the community of Birdsview, Rockport, Marblemount, Conway, Big Lake, and Clear Lake.
