The fall session of Startup School is around the corner, and entrepreneurs looking to start their business or fill in gaps in their business knowledge are invited to attend this no-cost 12-week course, offered in English.

Startup School is designed to pair curriculum from the My Own Business Institute at Santa Clara University with the expertise of SBDC advisors and local professionals in business for themselves.

Topics covered include choosing the right business and business organization structure, plus modules on licensing and permits, financing the business, accounting, marketing and ecommerce.

Participants will also come away with an initial business plan to help guide their strategic decisions and growth.

Many individuals who have taken the class say one of the best benefits of Startup School is the network of other entrepreneurs they create with their fellow classmates.

“[My business partner] and I have created a community with our classmates, and we’ll all continue to share information and ideas,” said one participant.

Different than previous sessions of Startup School, this session is taking place completely online. Class starts on Thursday, Sept. 4, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., and runs each Thursday through Nov. 20.
