Gina Eakin started as the new Community Relations Associate at EDASC earlier this month. Her primary focus will be working with the Leadership Skagit program.

Gina most recently worked as the Business Development Coordinator for Washington Vocational Services, where is worked in successive roles for nearly 13 years. She has earned associate technical arts degrees in both accounting and human services at Skagit Valley College.

Gina is also a graduate of the Leadership Skagit and served the Class of 2023 as a facilitator.

“We are delighted to have Gina on board,” EDASC CEO John Sternlicht said. “With her firsthand knowledge of the program, she has hit the ground running.”

Even though Gina had lived in Skagit County for 25 years when she participated in Leadership Skagit in 2021-22, she discovered “there’s so much more to Skagit Valley than I realized.”

Gina is eager to continue engaging with the community in this new role as a member of the EDASC team and relishes the opportunity to work again with Leadership Skagit Curriculum Manager Dr. Laura Flores Cailloux of Skagit Valley College.

Gina says she looks forward to meeting the new Leadership Skagit cohort at the upcoming retreat and building on the systems in place to make the program a seamless experience for participants.
