Working Washington Small Business Emergency Grant
The Working Washington Small Business Emergency Grant (WWSBEG) program provides up to $10,000 to small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. This grant is provided by the Washington State Department of Commerce through the Governor's Strategic Reserve Fund to support businesses through the crisis and enable them to retain as many employees as possible.
Important Note: If you are not a Skagit County business, refer to your county's economic development agency to apply for this grant.
- Company size must not exceed 10 employees
- Must have been in business for at least one year
- Must be a Washington State business
- Applicants may receive one WWSBEG award during the current budget cycle, which ends June 30, 2021.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received by the State Department of Commerce. Applications will be accepted or denied on a rolling basis. Contact EDASC at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss and assess your company's viability and to complete an application.
EDASC will prioritize applications based on severity of the impact the business is facing, including from being forced to close by government-mandated closures, social distancing measures or illness. Awards will be approved on a case-by-base basis and are dependent on the availability of funds.
Note: EDASC has been advised to be judicious in discerning appropriate and proportional grant amount based on necessity to the business and importance to the local community in order to ensure this emergency resource can be utilized by companies across the state. EDASC has formed a WWSBEG Review Committee to ensure fair process.
