KNKX Connects comes to Skagit Valley this month for the fifth installment of the station’s year-long regional reporting project. The goal of KNKX Connects is to increase local and regional news coverage and expand KNKX’s role in communities across Western Washington by presenting deep, rich storytelling and live broadcasts from these communities on a regular basis. Much like Port Angeles, Centralia/Chehalis, Bellingham and Grays Harbor, KNKX Connects will highlight local issues and life in Skagit Valley, and present a wide range of stories that reflect what makes the community unique.

We hope you can join us at two KNKX Connects to Skagit Valley events on January 31, both of which are free and open to the public:

  • Live broadcast of All Things Considered with host Ed Ronco and producer Geoffrey Redick from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Mount Vernon City Library (315 Snoqualmie Street).
  • All-ages listener happy hour from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Skagit River Brewery (404 S. 3rd Street) where you can mingle with Ed, Geoffrey and your neighbors. The first beverage is on us!
