MOUNT VERNON – EDASC in October was awarded a $30,000 grant from the Northwest Business Development Association (NWBDA) to support its programming, including entrepreneurial support and workforce development.
The NWBDA is a nonprofit certified development organization that supports business growth and job creation by providing small business loans along with local lenders and the Small Business Administration.
It also awards grants annually to organizations like EDASC or programs that provide economic or community development.
This year, they provided a total of $194,000 in grant funding to organizations across Washington and Oregon.
“We are incredibly thankful for NWBDA’s support, enabling us to further our shared mission of economic development valuing equity, inclusion and sustainability,” EDASC CEO John Sternlicht said. “These funds will help us continue meeting the support needs of small businesses as they deal with the impacts of Covid-19 and other pre-existing issues.”
