EDASC and the Skagit County Chambers of Commerce are pleased to present the monthly Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Speaker Series virtual event set for 1 to 2 p.m. June 1, featuring a presentation by PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) Skagit President Linden G. Jordan on the ABCs of LGBTQ+.

The ABCs of LGBTQ+ will introduce you to a community that many of you will recognize as family members and friends. You yourself may be a part of this community. There is considerable misunderstanding of these community members, and this presentation will familiarize you with who they are, why they are and why the business community of Skagit County should invest in learning more.

The time you spend in this session will better prepare you to offer a more inclusive environment in your business and in our business community.

Jordan's career has included being an attorney, mental health counselor and college professor. He has a law degree and a masters in clinical psychology. He is retired and spends his time volunteering with PFLAG Skagit.

There is no cost to attend the JEDI Speaker Series virtual event, but registration is required. Click here to register.

The goal of the series is to encourage representation and participation of diverse genders, races and ethnicities, religions, ages, and abilities and disabilities. Keynote speakers will share their experience on topics surrounding cultural diversity and how we can each contribute to build a more inclusive society.

The JEDI Speaker Series is held monthly the first Tuesday of each month from 1 to 2 p.m.
