EDASC in partnership with Innovation Norway is set to host the Skagit County Innovation in Mobility virtual event from 8 to 9:15 a.m. March 24, highlighting local innovative transportation projects and connecting local businesses with Norwegian cluster organizations.

The event also provides the opportunity to learn about the local transportation sector, such as what is needed, changing, and succeeding.

Featured speakers include representatives from companies such as truck manufacturer PACCAR, marine battery manufacturer LAVLE and shipbuilder Dakota Creek Industries. Local government officials will also speak, including those from Washington Maritime Blue and the state Department of Commerce’s Clean Technology Sector.

Event attendees will have the chance to interact with speakers during question-and-answer sessions.

Co-hosted by Innovation Norway, the Norwegian government’s most important instrument for innovation and development of Norwegian enterprises and industry, the event will also draw representatives from Norwegian cluster organizations.

The Pacific Northwest and Norway share economic, demographic and commercial characteristics, providing the perfect opportunity to collaborate, partner and share ideas. Skagit County -- with its culture of sustainability and strength in advanced manufacturing -- supports a strong and growing environment for developing transportation solutions.

The event is open to those interested in transportation and maritime, including small- to medium-sized business owners, executives and management working in the maritime and transportation sectors, as well as those involved in Norwegian cluster organizations. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.
