EDASC, chambers fueling revitalized Schmooze Fair

BURLINGTON – The community spoke and EDASC heard: Schmooze Fair is back.
Schmooze Fair, Northwest Washington’s premier business-to-business tradeshow, is set for 4 to 7 pm. April 23 at the Van Zyverden Bulb Warehouse in Burlington.
Formerly known as Spotlight on Skagit before returning to its original name, Schmooze Fair shines a spotlight on why Skagit County is a great place to live, work and do business.
This year, EDASC is revitalizing Schmooze Fair by bringing in more businesses, attendees, food and infusing more fun.
The changes will result in even more opportunities for attendees and exhibitors to make business connections, engage prospective clients, promote their brands, and even find new employees.

EDASC has over the last year taken steps to improve Schmooze Fair for 2020 by gathering feedback, hosting focus groups and forming the Schmooze Fair Revitalization Committee.
This has resulted in EDASC and the committee developing new, fun and engaging ways to boost the effectiveness of Schmooze Fair as Skagit County’s only business-to-business tradeshow.
One of the most visible improvements this year will be city themed “streets” showcasing what makes each community unique and vibrant. The streets will include “street lights” to help attendees navigate the exhibition floor.
Many of the county’s chambers of commerce, who have partnered with EDASC for this event, will also be exhibiting to promote their communities and provide passport-style prize giveaways. Because of this partnership, EDASC is excited to offer a $25 discount off the price of exhibiting to all Skagit County chamber members.
Schmooze Fair will feature more robust food offerings, as well as more prize giveaways such as the new Lucky Spot prize drawings, exhibitor prizes given away following an announcement to locate and stand on one of several Lucky Spots.
Other improvements you’ll see this year are a strong social media campaign, new and engaging ways to drive attendees to exhibits, and fun games and activities.
