EDASC, PTAC hosting Skagit County Meet-the-Buyers Event

MOUNT VERNON – Learn firsthand from local government purchasing departments what it takes to earn their business at the Skagit County Meet-the-Buyers Event from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 10 at the Skagit Transit Station Meeting Room.
The event, hosted by EDASC and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is designed to bring local small-business owners together to learn how to get their foot in the door of government contracting.
The event includes time for sellers to meet with each buyer during 20-minute “speed dating” sessions, as well as time for networking.

EDASC Business Development & Expansion Coordinator Tamsin Bell said anyone who has considered government contracting should attend the event.
“It’s important for small local businesses to learn and participate in government contracting, so they can affectively compete for open bids and increase their revenues,” Bell said.
EDASC, PTAC and the Office of Minority Women Business Enterprises will also be on hand to offer help and resources.
