Join us for the Leadership Skagit 2019 Graduation Ceremony from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 12 at the Swinomish Casino & Lodge.
An initiative founded by EDASC, Skagit Valley College and Washington State University and operated by the EDASC Foundation, Leadership Skagit works to strengthen and transform Skagit County and its communities by developing a network of business and community leadership that is informed, inclusive and connected through shared learning experiences.
The program brings together emerging and current leaders from business, government and the non-profit world. It proudly counts more than 500 graduates since its inception. Class participants receive 17 academic credits in Leadership from Skagit Valley College upon successful completion of the program. Leadership Skagit’s intensive 9-month curriculum combines leadership skill assessment and development with in-depth information, study and discussion on topics critical to the future of our region. Participants work as a part of a small team to identify, plan, organize and implement a service project that will provide a lasting benefit to our community.
After graduation, Leadership Skagit alumni continue their leadership journey as members of the LS graduate network. The alumni group, headed by a committee of graduates, hosts networking events, educational programs and forums, and provides community service opportunities to facilitate continuing education and network-building.
To support constructive community progress, alumni are encouraged to serve on committees, boards and task forces, consider serving in elected or appointed office as well as participate in professional organizations throughout the county and region. Recognized by Brigid Collins with the 2018 Community Leadership Award, Leadership Skagit is also a past recipient of the Governor’s Leadership Award and the Washington State University Hall of Champions Award.
