Mayor Jill Boudreau began serving as Mayor on January 1, 2012. She is committed to a municipal government that is efficient, adaptable, and dignified. She brings creative energy to City Hall and has significantly raised the level of community engagement in the City of Mount Vernon.
Her skill in communication was developed over time by adapting to frequent relocations and jobs as a military spouse, as a Community Service Officer with Mount Vernon Police Department and being a volunteer mediator.
Mayor Boudreau is a full-time city administrator responsible for 10 Departments providing traditional municipal services such as public safety, public works, community development, parks, and library. The City of Mount Vernon’s population is 36,000 with an annual budget of $71 million with a staff of 235 full time employees.
Her volunteer service includes the Hospice of the Northwest Foundation and Navy Marine Corps Relief Society.
