| Mount Vernon is a growing and diverse school district that has been serving students since 1891. Our nine schools and home school partnership serve 6,700+ students grades K-12. Six elementary schools serve students through grade 5. Two middle schools serve students grades 6 - 8. Mount Vernon High School serves grades 9-12. With close to 1,000 teachers, administrators, and support staff, the district is the third largest employer in Skagit County and a major contributor to the local economy. Strong community support of our schools is a tradition in Mount Vernon. The district has successfully passed operational and technology levies for many years. This support, combined with careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars, has allowed the District to develop a strong educational program. Strong communities require strong partnerships between schools and parents, community members, and businesses. In Mount Vernon, you can see those partnerships in action every day. |
