Confidential, free, one-on-one counseling services are offered to business owners who are looking to expand or stabilize their business and prospective business owners who are starting up a new business venture. Assistance is provided on a variety of business topics including business planning, financial analysis, marketing and advertising, record keeping, personnel issues and any other area that a business owner is in need of assistance. Courses are available on a quarterly basis for a nominal fee and provide quality information on managing different aspects of a business.

The Mount Vernon SBDC serves Skagit, Island and San Juan counties and is one of 22 centers across Washington State. We have access to extensive resources to assist the small business owner to address any specific business problem. While counseling is best done in person either in the SBDC office or at the business site, assistance can be provided over the phone and via Net Counseling which utilizes the internet to provide a forum for sharing and discussing the needs of a business owner.
