An available workforce is a reason many companies give for considering Skagit County as a place to do business.
Certainly tax incentives are grounds to ponder locating a manufacturing plant here.
Great local schools are another reason cited.
A work ethic that is alive and well is an excellent cause to locate in Skagit County.
A strong community college focused on job training is another outstanding reason.
Other very good reasons to locate here include: financing and labor training incentives, good access to transportation, great recreation opportunities, a mild climate, clean environment, low crime rate, affordable housing, great health care, a more rural area, proximity to major cities and a great quality of life.
While all of these are great reasons, maybe Dr. Leonard Guss, a consultant who was involved in the siting of a company to Skagit County in 1998, reflects the best in a comment. Dr Guss said that he found "the enthusiasm on the part of the community" as a big factor in the decision to locate in Skagit County.
Thank you to all of our partners: jurisdictions of government, public and private agencies, our private sector members, our Board and our committee members, for the high degree of enthusiasm that is so vital in creating jobs in Skagit County.
